The Hearth-Root Spell

For when your spirit feels like it’s pacing the room faster than your body can follow.

A quiet ritual for grounding, calming spiralling thoughts, and calling yourself back into your skin. Perfect for anxious days, scattered mornings, or when you need to return to centre before making a decision.

— The Ritual —

1. Place the candle in front of you. Put the pinch of salt in your palm.

2. Light the candle and say (aloud or silently): Here I am. Here I return.

3. Rub the salt between your palms until it dissolves. Feel the texture vanish.

4. Rest one hand on your chest, one on your stomach.

5. Breathe in for four, hold for two, exhale for six. Repeat three times.

6. Imagine your breath dropping from your mind into your ribs, from your ribs into your hips, and from your hips into the earth beneath you.

7. When you feel the shift — small or large — blow the candle out and whisper: Settled. Rooted. Mine again.

— Closing the Circle —

— A Deeper Note —

The ritual works because the body responds to rhythm, warmth, texture and breath long before the mind catches up. Salt engages your senses, breath resets your nervous system, and the candle gives your brain a point to orient to. This is spellwork as biology and devotion at once.
